Steelers' Jalen Ramsey says new Cowboys CB Joey Porter is 'Top 5 guy'

· Yahoo Sports

There's zero love loss between Jalen Ramsey and the Dallas Cowboys. Famously, Ramsey has claimed that the Cowboys vowed to draft him way back 10 years ago but instead pivoted and selected Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott with the No. 4 overall selection in the 2016 NFL draft. Elliott's been retired the last couple of seasons, but Ramsey is still balling in the league a decade later.

Only now, he's balling without his secondary mate, cornerback Joey Porter, who was traded to the Dallas Cowboys late on Wednesday night. Ramsey and the Pittsburgh Steelers had to go out and play another game on Thursday without Porter, who has yet to suit up in 2026 amidst a contract dispute, falling 27-24 to the Cleveland Browns.

After the loss, Ramsey was asked to weigh in on the loss of Porter, who appears to have been well liked and supported by his former teammates in the locker room.

“I would love nothing more than Joey to be on this team. Not only be on this team, but feel valued.

I feel like everytime we gave him a challenge... he really stepped up for us, and did his thing.

It’s very unfortunate that it didn’t work out. But at the same, I’m happy for him that he's getting a fresh start, and I hope to see him ball, and I hope all the success for him in his NFL future. I think he is a stud. I really do. I think he’s a top five guy.”

Porter has a chance to suit up on Sunday as the Cowboys take on the 0-3 Houston Texans who likely will have WR Nico Collins for the first time since Week 1.
