WNBA can’t fine Caitlin Clark for Aces-Fever free throw disparity reaction
· Yahoo Sports
Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever were eliminated from the WNBA playoffs on Thursday night. The Aces beat the Fever, 94-83, in a deciding Game 3 at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas. A’ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray combined to score 59 points in the closeout game.

The referees also had an impact on the final score as Fever head coach Stephanie White pointed out in the postgame press conference. The Aces shot 35 free throws on 27 Fever fouls, while Indiana shot just 20 free throws on 19 fouls called on Las Vegas.
When White read the free throw disparity Caitlin Clark delivered a very dry, “Hmm. Interesting.” She did this while tilting her entire body, raising both eyebrows and looking out at the press. It has all the makings of a great reaction gif.

What a perfect reaction. It’s funny and well-delivered and the WNBA cannot fine her because she didn’t actually say anything, despite the fact that she said it all.
And yet somehow that wasn’t her most memorable reaction of the night. After she nearly had a tooth knocked out by Jewel Lloyd she ran over to an official to point to her bloody mouth.

All of this was very, very Caitlin Clark. She is one-of-one in the way she both is treated by and reacts to officials. Its one of the biggest things that drives people crazy. Whether you support her and think she’s justified whenever she flails her arms after a call or dislike her and just think she needs to stop with all of it, this is Caitlin Clark.
