The Los Angeles Dodgers' 2026 postseason begins at home on Saturday, Oct. 3, hosting Atlanta in Game 5 of the best-of-five National League Division Series as the back-to-back World Series champions chase a third in a row.

No NL team has ever won three consecutive titles and the last Major League Baseball team to do it was the New York Yankees from 1998-2000. The Dodgers got a bye to the NLDS with the second-best record in the NL, while Atlanta had to win a hard-fought wild card series against their rival to advance.

Trade deadline acquisition and back-to-back Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal makes his first postseason start for the Dodgers, who last played six days ago. Skubal went 5-2 with a 2.61 ERA in 10 starts after the joining the Dodgers and the 29-year-old is a free agent this winter, expected to sign a record-setting contract.

"Everybody's got one goal at hand. I fit right in with that," Skubal told reporters. "I think everything that I try to do is try to win as many baseball games as I can. I'm excited to start doing that in October."
