Seahawks’ Former Notre Dame Star Lands on IR, Out At Least 4 Games
· Yahoo Sports
Jadarian Price will miss at least four games after the Seattle Seahawks placed their first-round rookie on injured reserve with a chest injury. The move removes Price after only three NFL appearances and interrupts his attempt to establish a larger role in Seattle’s crowded backfield.
The immediate consequence is his absence. The longer-term question is what the competition will look like when he returns, particularly with Zach Charbonnet moving closer to his season debut.

Seahawks Backfield Battle Wide Open After Jadarian Price IR Move
Price initially suffered the chest injury during Seattle’s Week 2 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. He played the following week against the Washington Commanders but aggravated the injury during Wednesday’s practice, according to Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald.

The Seahawks selected Price out of Notre Dame with the No. 32 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. That investment made him an important part of Seattle’s future, but the team did not enter the season describing him as an uncontested workhorse.
Seattle’s official roster analysis projected Price and George Holani to split the early workload, with Emanuel Wilson providing additional depth.

He also caught four passes for 21 yards. However, Price lost fumbles against Arizona and Washington, giving him two lost fumbles on 32 offensive touches.
The workload was already being divided. Wilson recorded 32 carries for 109 yards through three games, while Holani added 52 yards on 15 attempts.
Price’s injury therefore does not remove an established every-down runner. It gives the other backs at least four games to strengthen their positions in a competition that remains unsettled.
Zach Charbonnet’s Return Threatens Jadarian Price’s Grip on Seahawks Backfield
The timing creates another complication for Price. Seattle designated Charbonnet to return to practice on October 1, opening a 21-day window in which the Seahawks must activate him or leave him on the physically unable to perform list for the season. He remained ineligible for Week 4 but can return afterward if medically cleared.

Before the injury, he rushed for 730 yards and a career-high 12 touchdowns during the 2025 regular season.
Seattle has not announced when Charbonnet will play or what his workload will be. His return, however, could add a proven short-yardage option while Price remains unavailable.

Wilson, Holani and eventually Charbonnet now have an opportunity to influence how Seattle divides its backfield, leaving Price with more to reclaim than the four games he is required to miss.
