While game plans, coaching, and strategy will play a part, but sometimes a big emphasis will sit with some individual players. In terms of the Bills offense, who could those be?

Here are Bills Wire's three potential X-factors on the Bills (3-1) offense against the Rams (2-2) in Week 5:

TE Dalton Kincaid

The Bills offense struggled against the New England Patriots last week in their first loss of the season. Kincaid had one catch for seven yards. That's all that needs to be said, Kincaid should be involved more.

OL Connor McGovern

McGovern is the man in the middle of the Bills' offensive line. Between him and quarterback Josh Allen, Buffalo has to be aware of where Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald is every play. He can wreck an entire game plan.

RB James Cook

The Rams are known for their offense but the defensive output has been there this season. However, Los Angeles has a stout pass defense so far in 2026 and ranks second in the NFL allowing only 145.5 yards per game. Cook and the rushing attack has to get going, as the Rams rank 11th in the league there, allowing 102.0 yards per game.
