A 19-year-old woman is sought after she allegedly removed her ankle monitor while out on bail and took off from her Rexdale home.

Toronto Police say officers have been investigating the accused woman’s alleged breach of her release order since Monday morning.

“It is alleged that the accused is currently before the courts on several charges and was released from court with conditions,” police said in a statement released Saturday, while providing no details about what led to her charges.

“One of her release conditions was to wear a GPS ankle monitor device,” police explained. “Another condition was to reside with (her) surety each and every night.”

Police said they were notified that the accused had not been at her home in the Silverstone and Mount Olive Drs. Area – northwest of Kipling Ave. and Finch Ave. W. – and that she had removed her GPS ankle monitor device.

“The accused’s whereabouts are unknown,” police said.

Denisa Dumitru, of Toronto, is wanted for two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

She’s described as 5-foot-5, with a medium build and long black hair.

Investigators have released an image of the wanted woman hoping members of the public can help track her down.

Anyone with information regarding Dumitru’s whereabouts is urged to call police at 416-808-2300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
