· Yahoo Sports
Aaron Judge’s message to the New York Yankees following another disappointing MLB postseason exit reportedly did not sit perfectly with everyone in the organization. According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, one or two Yankees executives were “slightly to somewhat annoyed” by comments from the team’s captain calling for the front office to go all-in this offseason.

Judge made his frustration clear after the Yankees were swept by the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Division Series. With another season ending without a World Series appearance, the Yankees captain publicly challenged the organization to make whatever moves are necessary to close the gap. The comments have now created an interesting dynamic heading into what could be a pivotal offseason in the Bronx.

Judge put pressure on the Yankees front office

He specifically mentioned finding players or personnel capable of helping the team win a championship.
Judge’s frustration was understandable. He missed the entire postseason because of a calf injury, watching from the dugout as the Yankees were eliminated in three games. New York scored only five runs during the ALDS and failed to advance to the American League Championship Series.
But Judge didn’t simply criticize the roster. He also acknowledged that the Yankees consistently provide a winning team while making it clear that winning alone is not enough in New York.
“We’re the Yankees,” Judge said. “You’ve got to go out there and expect championships and go all-in every year.”
Those comments put significant pressure on general manager Brian Cashman and managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner to make meaningful improvements this winter.

Yankees now face an important offseason

Mandatory Credit: Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY SportsThe reported irritation from some Yankees executives adds another layer to the situation. Heyman’s report does not suggest that Judge has damaged his relationship with the organization, but it does indicate that his public comments landed differently with certain members of the front office.
That could make the Yankees’ offseason even more interesting.
Judge has repeatedly made it clear that winning a championship is his priority, and his comments after the Rays sweep were consistent with that mindset. He also said he was excited to see what the front office does next, effectively putting the responsibility for the roster’s next step back on Cashman and Steinbrenner.
The Yankees have plenty of decisions to make after another early postseason exit. New York has not won a World Series since 2009, and Judge has reached the postseason multiple times during his career without getting the franchise back to the championship stage.
Now, the Yankees have to determine whether Judge’s message becomes the blueprint for the offseason or a source of tension inside the organization.
Either way, the captain has made his expectations unmistakably clear: the Yankees need to do more.
