Arch Manning and Dante Moore entered the 2026 college football season as two of the top quarterback prospects for the 2027 NFL Draft. However, both quarterbacks have fallen down the board, with ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. now ranking them No. 24 and No. 25 overall.

Before the season, Manning and Moore were viewed as potential top-five picks. Both were five-star recruits coming out of high school, and their talent made them two of the most discussed prospects in the upcoming draft class. Manning also entered the season with plenty of attention because of his family name and potential as a franchise quarterback.

Their seasons have taken different turns. Moore’s injury has affected his draft outlook, while Manning’s inconsistent play has raised questions about his readiness for the NFL. Both quarterbacks could still hear their names called early in the first round, but Kiper appears to believe other options offer a safer projection.

Manning has fallen to QB6 on Kiper’s board, although the analyst still sees plenty of potential in the Texas quarterback.

“Manning has dropped to QB6 on my board — but he’s still a top-25 player because of the skill set. I see the size, mobility and arm strength that NFL teams look for in a franchise quarterback. He can make throws rolling out, and he is dangerous as a runner (10 rushing touchdowns last season). But Manning is too inconsistent, especially when it comes to accuracy and decision-making. He’s going to be a tough evaluation.”

Moore also has the tools to interest NFL teams, but his current ranking reflects the uncertainty surrounding his evaluation.

“When Moore is at the top of his game, he’s an impressive passer. He changes arm angles, he’s mechanically sound, he displays precise ball placement, and there’s good touch on his deep ball. Throws look effortless because of his arm strength, and he can deliver strikes while rolling out. There’s even some scramble ability there. The toolbox is full.”
