Bethlehem's Claire Hutton has been a regular call-up for the United States women's national soccer team this year and a mainstay in Bay FC's midfield.

Now, she'll showcase her skills in a different nationally televised competition.

Hutton announced on Instagram Thursday, Oct. 15, that she will participate in the NWSL Skills Challenge, which takes place on Nov. 20 and will air on Nov. 28 on CBS and Paramount+.

Hutton, 20, has started all 27 of Bay FC's NWSL games this season, logging 2,410 minutes and ranking second in the league with 60 tackles. She has two goals, two assists, and an 82% pass completion rate. Bay FC, at 7-15-5, sits 14th out of 16 teams in the league standings.

This is Hutton's first season with Bay FC after transferring from the Kansas City Current in February. She earned NWSL Best XI First Team honors, was a finalist for Midfielder of the Year in 2025 and helped Kansas City win the NWSL Shield as regular-season champions. In April, she became the youngest player since 2001 to start a match as USWNT captain, wearing the armband in a friendly against Japan.

The midfielder is among the players announced for the event at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Va. Starting at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 20, two teams of NWSL players will compete in three contests that test their shooting accuracy, ball control and finishing. The winning team will split a $35,000 prize.

Players whose teams advance to the NWSL Championship will not compete in the Skills Challenge. The NWSL Championship is scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern on Nov. 21 and will air live on CBS and Paramount+.

The skills event does not overlap with the USWNT's Concacaf W Championship opener. Hutton could be called up for that tournament. The Americans face El Salvador on Nov. 27, one week after the Skills Challenge.

Tickets are on sale, and fans can meet participants after the event. CBS will air the competition at 2 p.m. Eastern on Nov. 28, and it will stream on Paramount+.
