· Yahoo Sports

There is plenty of movement this week in the top 10 after the Fiesta Bowl Copper State Invitational, which featured upsets and historic performances as 4A Tucson Salpointe Catholic and 3A Scottsdale Christian Academy both proved themselves against bigger competition.

Here are the updated Arizona Republic high school flag football team rankings, as of Oct. 19, 2026.

The Republic's top 10 high school flag football rankings

1. Gilbert Campo Verde (10-2)

Staked their claim as the top team in the state, going a perfect 5-0 at the Copper State Invitational with a dominant effort. Now nationally ranked as well, No. 23 by MaxPreps.

2. Tucson Salpointe Catholic (10-1)

It was a monumental weekend for Salpointe, going 5-1 against 6A schools and making the championship game at the Copper State Invitational. Cracked the national rankings for the first time, coming in at No. 24 by MaxPreps.

3. Gilbert Highland (7-2)

Highland suffered its first two losses of the season, first losing to Salpointe in pool play and then falling to Campo Verde in the semifinals at the Copper State Invitational. It’s back to drawing board for coach Kenny Golladay and staff to get the team back on track. Dropped from No. 12 to No. 25 in the MaxPreps national rankings.

4. Glendale Mountain Ridge (8-1)

This team has responded the way coach Whitney Warmus wanted after the loss to Highland in September, going 5-0 since then. Won the Duel at Dusk tournament, beating Goodyear Millennium, Gilbert Mesquite and Queen Creek Casteel.

5. Chandler Basha (6-1)

Also took its first loss in 2026, going down 19-2 to 5A Waddell Canyon View at the Duel at Dusk tournament.

6. Gilbert (5-1)

Only played once last week, a 16-0 win over Mesa, as freshman Brooklyn Travis continues to make a name for herself.

7. Scottsdale Christian Academy (8-2)

This 3A flag program (though SCA is actually a 2A school) showed that school size doesn’t matter, going 2-2 against 6A schools and making the semifinals at the Copper State Invitational.

8. Marana (7-2)

It was an up-and-down tournament for Marana at the Copper State Invitational, going 2-2 as quarterback Isabella Garcia missed a few games with a jaw injury.

9. Casa Grande (10-0)

One of the few unbeaten teams left in the state. Casa Grande has allowed just one touchdown this season.

10. Tempe Corona del Sol (9-3)

Corona del Sol looks like a whole different offense with transfer quarterback Victoria Beakes eligible.

On the bubble: Liberty, Boulder Creek, Pinnacle, O’Connor, Horizon, Queen Creek, Casteel, Canyon View, Mesquite, Coconino.
