Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Pablo Larrazábal were among the players displaying some raw emotions after Friday's second round at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club.

Aphibarnrat, who shot an opening-round 75 on Thursday, withdrew after playing his front nine a day later and cited physical limitations in his back for cutting his tournament short.
"I have no choice, I have to go out and try but at some point it just felt like the body can't move and answer what I need to do," said Aphibarnrat, who recorded double bogeys at the third and seventh holes on Friday before deciding to WD. "It's quite a disappointed result but it is what it is."
The Genesis Championship was the 37-year-old Aphibarnrat's final chance to qualify for a DP World Tour card in 2027. Entering the event 108th in points, with the top 100 at week's end earning cards, he held back tears in discussing his disappointment in coming up short, even apologizing to his fans.
"I shouldn't have been playing all 11 weeks in a row," said Aphibarnrat, a four-time DP World Tour winner.
"I've gotten my tour card back twice from the Q-school and I have to go back there," he added. "Who knows, next year could be my best season."
The 43-year-old Larrazábal shot 73-73 over his two rounds in South Korea and was equally distraught about having to go back to the European tour's Q-School.
"Not too many people in the world can say that they have achieved probably 98, 99% of my dreams," said Larrazábal, who was 165th in points. "But I think I have a couple more years of golf and I think I can still win golf tournaments. But for that, I'm going to have to prepare myself."
Here are other notables who will finish outside the top 100 in points and will lose their DP World Tour card for 2027:
- Christiaan Bezuidenhout
- Dylan Frittelli
- Elvis Smylie
- Harry Hall
- Matthieu Pavon
- Thorbjorn Olesen
Bezuidenhout and Hall have each played 24 PGA Tour events this year and sit inside the top 100 in the FedExCup fall standings, which would give them status on that tour next season. Hall is secure, currently at 56th. Bezuidenhout is a more precarious 95th.
Pavon played the next most PGA Tour events at 22, finishing inside the top 25 in four of them and sitting No. 135 in the fall points list — 10 spots off conditional status for 2027.
The 36-year-old Olesen also played 15 times on the PGA Tour in 2026, but currently sits No. 171.
Frittelli played three PGA Tour events in July, while Smylie finished T-75 at the PGA Championship at Aronimink — his only start on Tour this past year. The 24-year-old Smylie joined LIV Golf at the start of 2026, winning his debut in Riyadh in February.
Fritelli last found the winner's circle at the DPWT's Bahrain Championship in 2024, where he edged Zander Lombard and Jesper Svensson.
