The Red Raiders, McGuire and booster/board of regents chairman Cody Campbell have come into the spotlight after Texas Tech's 37-24 loss at Cincinnati on Saturday. Campbell posted on social media in the closing minutes of the game there was "no excuse" for the loss.
National media folks have begun to talk about McGuire possibly not being around Lubbock much longer without a stronger showing from the football team. Campbell says that's not going to happen anytime soon.
"Absolutely nothing is going to change at the head coach position at Texas Tech," Campbell posted on X (formerly Twitter) quoting Cody Nagel of 247Sports' post about who Tech could target if it moved on from McGuire. "Joey McGuire is the perfect fit for our program, everybody, with an opnion that matters, loves him. He isn't going anywhere. If anything, we are ready, willing, and able to double down on him and this program. It's more likely that he gets an extension and a raise at the end of this year.

Absolutely nothing is going to change at the head coach position at Texas Tech. Joey McGuire is a perfect fit for our program, everybody, with an opinion that matters, loves him. He isn’t going anywhere. If anything, we are ready, willing, and able to double down on him and this program. It’s more likely that he gets an extension and raise at the end of this year. Long story short, this article is a ridiculous waste of time, but if you do feel compelled to write another one, please find a better picture of me!
