Jordon Davison injured, expected to miss 2nd half vs. Northwestern

· Yahoo Sports

After getting tackled awkwardly in the first half against the Northwestern Wildcats, Oregon Ducks running back Jordon Davison isn't expected to return for the second half, Dan Lanning told Peacock's sideline reporter. The Ducks went into the halftime locker room down 20-13, staring at the possibility of dropping to 4-4 on Halloween.

Davison's backfield mate, running back Dierre Hill Jr., also suffered an injury and missed the last few minutes in the first half but should be back once he warms up, Lanning said.

The Ducks rushing attack didn't have much success in the first half, amassing just 33 yards on 12 carries — good for a meager average of 2.8 yards per carry. Hill led the way with four carries for 21 yards, while Davison had three carries for 17 yards. Each of Da'Jaun Riggs and Brandon Smith recorded a carry.

The passing game got going for Oregon in the second quarter, as quarterback Dylan Raiola has completed 10-of-15 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown. On the other side, however, the Ducks defense has had trouble stopping Northwestern quarterback Aidan Chiles, who's up to over 200 total yards and two total touchdowns just in the first half.

With Davison sidelined and Hill's availability and effectiveness in question, expect Riggs and Smith to see more action in the final 30 minutes.
