The injury-hit German champions issued a health update on Sunday after more players were sidelined along with Manuel Neuer, Jamal Musiala and Luis Diaz.

"Saibari tore the syndesmotic ligament in his right ankle and has already had surgery. Gnabry sustained a muscular injury in his left hamstring," Bayern said without giving a timeline on when the pair might return.

There was no mention of Michael Olise, who limped off late on against Dortmund.

Bayern added that the operation for Morocco's Saibari, a big transfer window addition, had been successful.

Winger Gnabry, 31, was only back fit after missing Germany's ill-fated World Cup tilt due an adductor injury.

The champions' problems, which include coach Vincent Kompany so far missing three games with illness, are putting a huge strain on their squad. Three recognized left backs were on the pitch during the second half against Dortmund.

Bayern, who have previously said they are not interested in January signings, go to Atlético Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.
