Lakers update Ziaire Williams' status for Sunday's game vs. Raptors

· Yahoo Sports

Two days after blowing a 25-point lead and losing 112-95 to the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco, the Los Angeles Lakers will return home for back-to-back games at Crypto.com Arena, starting with a Sunday matchup versus the Toronto Raptors.

They will get a break, as future Hall of Fame forward Kawhi Leonard will miss his fourth straight game due to a knee injury. But the Lakers won't have two of their players in action on Sunday. Second-year forward Adou Thiero, who hasn't played yet this season, will be out again with a knee ailment.

Starting forward Ziaire Williams also won't be available after initially being listed as questionable. He will miss his third straight game due to a foot injury.

In his four games this season, Williams is averaging 11.3 points and 1.5 steals in 28.5 minutes a game while shooting 57.1% shooting from the field and 46.7% from 3-point range. His improved 3-point shooting has helped L.A.'s offense, and he has also been a reliable finisher in transition. Defensively, he has helped apply pressure on the perimeter, which has been a big area of emphasis for coach JJ Redick.

Rookie guard Cameron Carr, who hasn't played since the second preseason game in October, has been cleared to play after dealing with an oblique strain, and he could get some minutes on Sunday versus the Raptors.
