The Ohio State football team suffered a tough defeat on Saturday night to USC. The loss puts a wrench in the Buckeyes’ plans to reach the College Football Playoff. Following the loss, Ohio State head coach Ryan Daytried to remain as positive as he could be.

“Once we were down by two scores, we knew we were in that game and we had to go…….we felt like if we got a couple of first downs, we could try and pick up the pace,” Day said to reporters postgame, per The Silver Bulletin.

While Day praised his Ohio State offense for being able to eventually pick up their tempo, Buckeyes fans weren’t having it. Ohio State fans were angry with Day after the loss.

“I rolled my eyes before I even clicked on the video…,” the X account quinnbear posted as a reply to the video shared above.

Day’s comments got even more critiques from Ohio State fans, who were unhappy with the Buckeyes’ performance. Following the 30-18 loss to the Trojans, Ohio State is now 6-2 on the season.

“If he seriously believes they were ‘going fast’ on the drive at the 7:00 minute mark…. The problem is MUCH worse than I thought, much much worse. He’s literally delusional,” the X account Mr_mitchellLee posted.

The Buckeyes are now in great danger of missing the College Football Playoff. Ohio State now has losses this year to USC and Texas. A third loss will make it virtually impossible for the Buckeyes to get into the CFP field this season.

Ohio State is also having to play without starting quarterback Julian Sayin. Sayin is out hurt, and the Buckeyes are now led by Luke Fahey at quarterback.

“It’s extremely frustrating coming into a game like this with a young quarterback and not play cleaner,” Day said, per Sports Illustrated. “The penalties were not good.”

Ohio State is next in action against Oregon on November 7.
