The Hoosiers (8-1, 5-1 Big Ten) moved up one spot to No. 3 going into their off week just behind No. 1 Miami and No. 2 Georgia, but voters in the AP Poll were more critical of IU's close call against the Gophers.

Indianadropped two spots in the latest AP poll to No. 6 and fell behind No. 5 UCLA, for the first time this season. The Bruins are one of three remaining unbeaten teams in the FBS. The Hurricanes (8-0) and Utah (8-0) are the only other programs without a loss.

The Big Ten has six teams ranked in the coaches poll and five in the AP poll.
