Following a blowout road loss to the Buffalo Bills, the Baltimore Ravens extended their losing streak to three games and faced another setback when star quarterback Lamar Jackson suffered a thumb injury that requires surgery. This development has led NFL insider Ari Meirov to speculate that Jackson’s time in Baltimore may be coming to an end, especially since he is entering the final year of his contract, which carries an enormous cap hit of over $84 million.

Concerns about Jackson’s long-term durability have been amplified due to his history of injuries in recent seasons, prompting heightened speculation about a potential separation. A bold prediction from analyst Bryant McFadden, shared on X by the NFL on CBS, stated, “I don’t think Lamar Jackson plays for Baltimore ever again. I think next season he will be on a new team.” McFadden expressed a strong belief that Jackson has already taken his last snap in a Ravens uniform.

This organizational uncertainty is compounded by an immediate crisis at quarterback. With Jackson injured and Tyler Huntley dealing with turf toe, general manager Eric DeCosta had to act quickly and signed quarterback Austin Reed to the practice squad. Reed will serve as a backup to Joe Fagnano for the upcoming Thursday night matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
