The Houston Rockets got beat by the Phoenix Suns on Saturday. Rockets star Kevin Durant admitted it was tough to lose to his former team. He even admitted he misses living in Phoenix, Arizona.
“It’s a normal, regular game. I played here for 2.5 years bro. It’s not that deep. I loved living in Phoenix. I miss it everyday, to be honest with you,” Durant said, per ClutchPoints.

Houston lost on Saturday, 102-99. Durant finished the game with 21 points and 10 rebounds. The veteran finished 10-for-11 from the free throw line in the contest.
Durant played for the Suns from 2023-2025. He still has a lot of friends in Phoenix, including Suns guard Devin Booker.
“I’m always going to embrace that friendship, that brotherhood, no matter what. Before he even came here, I was always a fan. So, it’s going to continue to grow. Obviously, it was going to be a high-intensity game every time we play them for Dillon (Brooks) and Jalen (Green) too, so I’m glad we got a win for them,” Booker said after the game Saturday, per ClutchPoints.
Durant has played for several teams in his long NBA career. This season, he is averaging 20.8 points per game. He also is averaging 5.7 rebounds and three assists per contest.
Kevin Durant wants the Rockets to play better late in games
Against Phoenix on Saturday, Durant led Houston in scoring. He struggled from three-point range, making just one three pointer on seven attempts.
Durant wants his team to execute better down the stretch.
“It’s the most important thing,” Durant said of late-game execution, per The Athletic. “Fourth-quarter games and winning tight games is what the NBA is about. As much as you can get the reps and as much as you can get that on film and, as a coach, see what lineups work and, as a player, see what moves and angles work. It’s good early in the season that we’ve got a few of those games under our belt.”
The Rockets are now 7-3 on the season, following the loss. Houston next plays the Denver Nuggets on Monday.
