Herbert had missed portions of the voluntary Phase 2 workouts earlier in May to join his girlfriend, singer Madison Beer, on the early leg of her "The Locket Tour" in Europe. According to head Jim Harbaugh, Herbert was upfront with the team about his plans, and he fully supported the decision.

When asked about Herbert's whereabouts, Harbaugh shared his reaction to the initial request.

"I was happy he went to support Madison [Beer] at the music tour," Harbaugh said. "He told me he wasn't going to be here for two weeks and my first reaction was, 'Do you need a ride to the airport?'"

Harbaugh emphasized the importance of balance, noting that Herbert has consistently demonstrated dedication to the team, even showing up after playing through significant injuries, such as the broken hand he dealt with during the 2025 season.

With Herbert back on the field, the focus now shifts to on-field work as he acclimates to his fifth NFL offensive system, with this now being engineered by new coordinator Mike McDaniel.
