The Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl 60 in dominant fashion, shutting down the New England Patriots offense en route to their second title in franchise history.

Following such a win, the Seahawks lost a few key players in free agency, brought back others, and made a few picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. While there has been some change, the Seahawks are very much a contender for the Super Bowl this season.

However, ESPN's Seth Walder shared a projection that is a little lackluster. Coming off such a dominant season, the Seahawks received just a 7.0% chance to repeat as Super Bowl champions from ESPN.

Seahawks have 7.0% chance to repeat as Super Bowl champions

"The result is the Rams are the Super Bowl favorites, with a 14.9% chance to win the title," Walder writes. "That's more than 4 percentage points higher than the next-best team, the Bills. Seattle's chances to repeat are less than half of that at 7.0%."

There's still plenty of time before the season begins, and having a 7.0% chance to win the Super Bowl isn't the worst figure in the league at all; it's actually the fourth-best mark in all of the NFL.

Only the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills in the AFC, and the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC, have a greater chance to win the Super Bowl this upcoming season.

But, considering the Rams are all the way up at 14.9%, it's hard not to feel as if this 7.0% projection is a little bit lackluster for the defending champions.

The Rams were the favorites before their Myles Garrett trade, and they only surged higher with such a blockbuster move.

In comparison, the Seahawks haven't made such a splash addition this offseason, with the re-signing of Josh Jobe and Rashid Shaheed, along with the first-round pick of Jadarian Price, being the most notable moves this offseason.

Seattle's projected Super Bowl odds aren't even that bad, but they are a little underwhelming compared to the NFC West rival Rams, who have more than twice the chance to win it all next year than the Seahawks, according to ESPN.
