The Philadelphia 76ers have made their first addition of the 2026 offseason as they head into a new era under the guidance of President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey. The Sixers made a change at the top of the front office with Gansey taking over for Daryl Morey and the new head man made his first move with the No. 22 pick in Tuesday’s draft.

With that pick, the Sixers have selected Alabama guard Labaron Philon. The 6-foot-4 Mobile, AL native averaged 22.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.5 rebounds along with 1.2 steals while shooting 50.1% from the floor and 39.9% from deep. He will be a solid backup guard right away to Tyrese Maxey and give the Sixers a legitimate scoring option and stabilizer to the second unit as time moves on.

With the first addition of the offseason in tow, the Sixers will now turn their attention to free agency on June 30 as Gansey and Co. continue to build out the roster. Philadelphia has a talented core, but it will now be on the front office to build a roster that can compete with the champion New York Knicks in the upcoming season.
