The 23-year-old forward signed a four-year contract with the Ligue 1 club on Tuesday after Monaco exercised the €11 million purchase option included in his loan agreement.

Emotional goodbye from Ansu

Reflecting on his journey, Ansu looked back on his arrival at Barcelona as a child and the years he spent developing through the club’s academy.

“Hello, Culers!! I came here as a child, La Masia was my home. I enjoyed every game and every tournament, and I defended these colours above all, Ansu began.

He also highlighted the lessons he learned throughout his time at the club, writing: “We win, we lose, but most importantly, I learned every day the values that this club represents.”

Gratitude to everyone at the club

Ansu then proceeded to thank the many people who supported him throughout his Barcelona career, both on and off the pitch.

“I met a lot of amazing people: colleagues who became brothers, coaches, physio’s, cooks, press staff and directors. Thank you all for these unforgettable years.”

The former academy graduate described reaching Barcelona’s first team as the fulfilment of a lifelong ambition.

“Thank you for everything, FC Barcelona. Thank you for everything, Culers.”

Visca el Barça i visca Catalunya!”

A new chapter at Monaco

Ansu has signed with Monaco until 2030 and will now aim to rebuild the form that made him one of Europe’s brightest young talents during his early years at Barcelona.

His successful loan spell convinced the French club to make the transfer permanent after he scored 12 goals and showed flashes of the quality that once made him one of Barcelona’s biggest hopes for the future.

Barça receive a €11 million transfer fee for Ansu, while they have also retained a 20% future sell-on clause on the forward.
