The retired forward appeared on “The Road Trippin'” show and claimed that James told him about it during the Cleveland Cavaliers’ reunion. However, he was asked not to tell anybody about it.

“He told me exactly what was going to happen,” Richardson said. “He told me the date that he was going to tell the Lakers that he moved away. Then he told me where he was going to go. He told me not to tell. But I know the whole plan. Me, him, Rich Paul, we’ve been talking. So I kind of know their whole strategy. They’re waiting on some other dominoes to fall right to make sure everything’s aligned.
Jefferson and James played alongside each other with the Cavaliers from 2015 to 2017. The 22-time All-Star led the team in securing the title in 2016, with Jefferson playing a key role off the bench.

Early reports suggested that the Golden State Warriors were the frontrunners to sign the superstar forward. However, there has been speculation that James could return to Cleveland and finish his legendary career with his hometown team.
The 41-year-old was drafted by the franchise at No. 1 in 2003. He left for the Miami Heat in 2010 before returning to the Cavaliers in 2014. James then moved to the Los Angeles Lakers four years later. His potential homecoming would be a full circle moment for him. It would also be a storybook ending if he can deliver another championship to Cleveland.
