Many have suggested that the Golden State Warriors would like to trade for the Washington Wizards' Anthony Davis. Davis is in perhaps the weirdest stage of his career at the moment, on a Washington team that isn't expected to be very good.

However, other reports indicate that the Warriors won't have much chance of landing him because the Wizards don't want to move him at the moment.

Many have suggested that the Wizards are actually looking to win at a high level this season and understand that they need to at some point. Obviously, having a good player like Davis would help them achieve that.

However, while the assumption was that Golden State would like to trade for him to entice LeBron James, the latest reports suggest it does not.

“James will tilt the odds in the East if he goes there. He won’t make much of a dent if he stays in the West, though, even if he goes to Minnesota or Denver,” Sean Deveney wrote.

“That’s why the Warriors have been pushed to trade for Anthony Davis, so that James’ arrival will actually change the balance of power and not just be a nice closing story. (The Warriors still do not want to trade for Davis, however, and the Wizards still do not want to trade him, despite his lengthy stay on the NBA trade rumor mill.)”

I don't think it's that surprising to hear that the Warriors don't want to trade for him, though there's an argument that they have such little talent that making a trade for any good player would be a wise decision.

That's something the Warriors would have to consider if Davis becomes available, even if James signs elsewhere.
