Chase McCauley, Noah Dever setting the pace at ZDGA Junior Amateur

SOUTH ZANESVILLE — The fight for first place will be hotly contested in the second round of the Zanesville District Golf Association Junior Amateur.
Chase McCauley fired a 1-under-par 69 in first-round play at EagleSticks to top the high school field. He heads the championship flight entering play at 9 a.m. on July 27 at Cambridge Country Club, where Clark Frischen and Jackson Geisler sit two back after 71s and Oliver Lutz six back at 75.

John Glenn grad and Charleston (West Virginia) University product Noah Dever leads the men's collegiate flight with 72. Fellow Muskie C.J. Dolan is at 73 and Crooksville grad Bo White 74, followed by Logan McPeek (75), Owen Lutz (77), Shea Lesko (78), Cole Eltringham (78), Ben Coss (78) and Doug Miller (85).
Dylan Pielech (76), Landon Hinger (77), Cale Preston (77), Cash McCauley (78) and Jayce Miller (79) are also within 10 shots of the lead.
Will Hubal heads the first flight with 83; Tyler Hindel is at 85, Colton Nelson and Max Daniels 86, Quentin Yanosik 87 and Easton Hursey 88.
Makayla Gress heads the junior girls flight at 79, followed by Kylie Van Fossen (82), Lily Hoffman (84), Regan Shirer (84), Lexie Geyer (92), Karleigh Webster (95), Kendall Mitchell (100) and Delaney Wood (115).
