Keegan Bradley played alongside Jackson Koivun during the opening round of the Rocket Classic on Thursday.
And Bradley will get another first-hand view of Koivun’s brilliance when they play together in Detroit on Friday.

The 21-year-old won on the PGA Tour in what was only his third start as a professional last week at the 3M Open.
And Jackson Koivun got off to a solid start at the Rocket Classic on Thursday, posting a one-under par 69 – four strokes worse than Keegan Bradley‘s impressive 65.

And vice-captain Bradley got a close-up view of Koivun’s incredible ability on Thursday at the Detroit Golf Club.

Bradley spoke to reporters after his brilliant opening-round 65 at the Rocket Classic on Thursday morning.
The 2025 Ryder Cup captain was in fine spirits due to his exceptional golf and it seems as though he was really excited about what he saw from Koivun as well.
He was asked by one journalist to share his thoughts on Koivun after watching him play throughout the round.

“Really, really great guy. How old is he, 20, 21, something in there? Yeah, he seems more mature and older, which makes him unique.
“A lot of the younger players that I have seen come out that are really good play a much different game.
“He’s not a 195 ball speed guy, he’s just a really solid player. I was really impressed.“
Bradley confirms whether he was scouting Koivun for Presidents Cup role
The eight-time PGA Tour winner responded when asked by one reporter whether he was watching Koivun close up on Thursday in some kind of scouting mission ahead of the Presidents Cup.
“I’m just trying to focus sort of on what I’m doing mostly,“ Bradley admitted.
“But it certainly was nice to see him up close. He seems like he’s got a lot of, just confidence and maturity.
“Like I mean, I couldn’t imagine doing what he’s doing at that age. He certainly has the makeup.“
Those comments from Keegan Bradley bode extremely well for Jackson Koivun regarding his hopes of making the US Presidents Cup team in September.
Bradley saying ‘he certainly has the makeup’ is a huge boost for Koivun’s Presidents Cup chances.
Right now, though, the 21-year-old just needs to focus on his game and the rest will all fall into place.
