San Francisco Giants trade rumors: Who will be dealt? Who will remain?

It's a no-brainer that the San Francisco Giants would be willing sellers at the MLB trade deadline.
The next area of focus is on who they will deal, and what they will look to get in return.

The 2026 trade deadline is officially scheduled for Monday, Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. ET (3 p.m. PT). The Giants have been rumored to shop virtually everybody not named Casey Schmitt or Bryce Eldridge.
However, it looks like there has been a change of heart as to who's available and who's not.
Names such as Luis Arraez, Rafael Devers and Jung Hoo Lee have been floated around in trade rumors. Joining them in those trade rumors are Willy Adames, Robbie Ray, Landon Roup and Heliot Ramos.
USA TODAY Sports' Bob Nightengale reports that the Giants "plan to keep outfielder Jung Hoo Lee and trade Heliot Ramos."
The Giants are ready to blow it up and were previously "all ears" on Lee, but balked at the idea considering he's a fan-favorite who draws large crowds that show up in San Francisco wearing his No. 51 jersey, which also drives revenue.
Plus, Lee has an expensive, six-year, $113 million contract that he signed in 2023. All $113 million is guaranteed, while Lee earns an average annual salary of $18.83 million.
Ramos, on the other hand, would be easier to move considering his one-year, $810,000 contract. Through 70 games, Ramos has put together a .267 batting average with 9 home runs, 34 RBIs and 73 hits.
Pitcher Robbie Ray also is available
Ramos isn't the only player San Francisco changed its mind on.
Nightengale also wrote that the Giants are telling teams they are "willing to eat part of starter Robbie Ray’s contract" in a trade.
Ray, 34, is currently making $25 million during the 2026 season. He will be an unrestricted free agent after the season. Ray has posted a 9-6 record with a 3.16 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and threw 101 strikeouts so far in the 2026 season.
Luis Arraez, Rafael Devers and other possible Giants trade pieces
The Athletic's Jim Bowden, a former general manager for the Cincinnati Reds and Washington Nationals, suggested San Francisco send infielder Luis Arraez to the Texas Rangers for LHP Dalton Pence and infielder Yolfran Castillo. However, Bowden said he has no knowledge if that's a deal even being pursued.
Rafael Devers was long-named one of the high-priced players the team would "love to unload," according to previous USA TODAY reporting. He is the highest-paid player on the team, making $27 million this season and still has $226.5 million remaining on a contract that runs through 2033.
The Giants should look to move off of Harrison Bader. It's been a disaster. He has been out since May 29, battling left plantar fasciitis, and further aggravated the injury in a scooter crash, that may or may not have involved alcohol, in San Francisco last weekend.
The injury led San Francisco to shut him down for the season. Giants skipper Tony Vitello said the scooter accident did not influence the decision to shut Bader down. Regarding the off-field incident, he said the front office would sort it out. Bader finished with a .170 batting average, 14 RBIs and five home runs in 30 games.
With one year remaining on his contract, the Giants should do all they can to dump Bader's salary on to another team. He signed a two-year, $20.5 million contract with San Francisco, including a $6 million signing bonus.
His $20.5 million is guaranteed, according to Spotrac, and averages to an annual salary of $10.25 million. Bader is expected to earn a base salary of $4.5 million and a $6 million signing bonus, while carrying a total salary of $7.5 million. He is expected to be owed $13 million in 2027.
The Giants' record so far in 2026 hasn't been good and something's got to give as the team sports one of the worst records in the National League. It feels a change is imminent. Anything can happen between now and Monday afternoon.
