‘I can’t be thinking about that:’ Moro Ojomo opens up on his contract and future – NBCSP
Moro Ojomo couldn’t be happier for his fellow defensive linemen, Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter, for getting huge new contracts. Even though deep down we all know what it means. It means Ojomo most likely won’t be here next year. Because nobody – even Howie Roseman – can pay big money to three interior linemen. And the way he’s been going, Ojomo is on track for pretty hefty payday. Ojomo said after practice Monday he can’t afford to think about his future. Because if he does, that means he’s not focused on what’s really important. “I think that when you get into those thoughts that it can be a rabbit hole,” he said. “So I’d rather kind of steer clean from them. At the end of the day, we’ve got a football season to play. I’ve got an agent and he’s hired for a reason, so he needs to do his job and (I’ll) do my job and we’ll see what happens.” As a 7th-round pick, Ojomo got a four-year rookie contract worth just $923,362 per year, which ranks outside the 250 highest-paid interior linemen in the NFL.

JALEN HURTS UPDATE: Monday was a bounce back performance from Hurts and the offense after they were bested by Vic Fangio’s defense in the previous two practices. Encouraging to see.

Question from @irisheagles (from Bluesky): Based on your limited viewing thus far, most likely UDFA to make the team. (Not named Rocco Underwood) My guy so far is S Maximus Pulley. Pulley had 85 tackles and 5 INTs (including two pick-sixes) for Wofford in 2025. He posted some All-22 of his highlights on YouTube. That’s a fun watch. Pulley reads quarterbacks’ eyes and makes big plays on the football against the pass, and he loves triggering downhill hunting tackles for loss in the run game. Fun player. In camp so far, he’s been around the football a lot when he has gotten reps, and he’s looked fearless playing the run. (Also, I don’t love what I have seen from Underwood so far. He has had some high snaps on punts, and as we pointed out in our Day 4 notes, the spin on his field goal snaps is imprecise.)
Camp Notes – Good Day for Offense – Iggles Blitz
We have talked about how deep this group is. They are going to make final cuts tough on Howie Roseman and the coaching staff. There are three locks. DeVonta Smith, Makai Lemon, Dontayvion Wicks. Hollywood Brown is a notch below that. He’s likely to make the roster, but does have to earn it. I’m guessing Cooper is in the lead for the number five spot now. There is a case for Wilson and Moore. Wilson has unique size at 6-6, 228 and is a good blocker. He’s willing to do the dirty work. Moore has good experience and has been a workhorse receiver in the past. Cooper seems to be playing the best for now and that has him in the lead. Lemon missed the team portion of practice today. Jeff McLane reported that it was due to an injury, but isn’t anything too serious.

10:52 a.m.: This is the play of the day and the best pass I’ve seen Hurts make all summer. He throws a dart to Moore deep down the middle of the field, placing the ball in a perfect spot over defenders for Moore to make the catch with nobody in front of him for a touchdown. The throw was probably 30-plus yards, and it hit Moore in stride. Hurts knew he threw a dime. He celebrated the pass in a way that’s atypical for the quarterback in a practice session. If he makes that pass in a game, talk radio spends the entire week on it, as opposed to his lack of touchdowns early in camp, which had been a topic over the weekend. A quick aside on that: The reason you haven’t read about the lack of touchdowns in camp so far in this space is that the context is required. They’ve only had one red-zone period before Monday’s session, and they’ve mostly been working on early-down installs from the middle of the field or his own territory. Unless Hurts throws deep balls, it’s not going to be a touchdown. Conversely, if they’re working in the red zone, you’ll see more touchdowns. Speaking of which…
Nolan Smith Jr. calls arrest for speeding ‘unacceptable’: ‘I represent the Eagles no matter where I go’ – Inquirer
Speaking publicly for the first time since his May 15 arrest in Twiggs County, Ga., for speeding and reckless driving, Eagles edge rusher Nolan Smith Jr. called his actions “unacceptable.” Smith was caught traveling 135 mph in a 70 mph zone, an incident that came four years after Smith was arrested in Barrow County, Ga., for speeding in a construction zone while driving on a suspended license. “I apologized to the organization, and I’ll make that apology now,” Smith said Monday after Eagles practice. “I represent the Eagles no matter where I go, Georgia, Florida, it doesn’t matter. That’s one of the ones that I own up and I apologize for. It’s just like that. We make mistakes and it can’t happen again and that’s unacceptable. I did apologize to Howie [Roseman], I did apologize to Mr. Lurie, and I can’t let my teammates down like that. They hold me to a different accountability on and off the field.”

On Wednesday, Steven told Shemar and Jensen that they were attending Saturday’s Eagles Training Camp practice. Shemar watches all of the team’s social media posts and instantly dreamed of being along the players’ entrance to the practice field when Pro Bowl guard Landon Dickerson yells a hearty “Good morning!” to the fans in attendance. “Her love and admiration for the Eagles is just something to die for,” Steven said.
A.J. Brown injury update: Patriots WR suffers dislocated thumb at practice – Pats Pulpit
A.J. Brown was actively involved during the New England Patriots’ eighth training camp practice on Monday. The veteran wide receiver did so despite suffering a dislocated left thumb early during the session. He spoke about the injury during an appearance on NFL Network directly after the two-hour practice inside the Patriots’ indoor facility. “It was tough. I tried to get back into that flow state zone really quickly, because you’re going through a little pain,” he explained. “Obviously, the game is what it is and you’re going to get bumps and bruises. You got to keep going. I know it’s practice, but I’m not coming out of practice. You keep going.”

The Cowboys have barely had a handful of practices in general, and just a single one wearing the actual gear that is to be worn when you play the sport of football. Washington Commanders Free Agency: Fabian Moreau returns – Hogs Haven
The Washington Commanders have reportedly added another veteran cornerback to the roster. Rasul Douglas signed last week, and Washington’s former 3rd-round pick, Fabian Moreau, was the latest addition to the secondary. The Commanders are missing another Day 2 pick at training camp with Trey Amos still recovering from a broken fibula from his rookie season. Amos was reportedly dealing with some soft tissue issues that landed him on the active/PUP list. The Commanders announced the corresponding roster move, CB Ahkello Witherspoon has been placed on the Reserve/Retired List.
NY Giants training camp, practice No. 5: Arvell Reese dominates – Big Blue View
Arvell Reese — Somebody forgot to give the rookie linebacker the memo that there was no live tackling in practice. Reese dumped Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy at the line of scrimmage. He had a sack of Jaxson Dart, where he fortunately remembered not to hit the red jersey. Impressively, that sack came on a blitz with Andrew Thomas the nearest offensive lineman. Reese also had a couple of nice plays in coverage. Harbaugh said he was “very encouraged” by the play of the team’s No. 5 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. “I think he looked good today from what I could see.,” Harbaugh said. “I can’t wait to see the tape, but he’s playing really well. He’s been playing well the whole camp since he got here. “You see the talent, obviously. I think he’s very sharp for a first-year guy. He gets things right pretty much all the time, makes very few mistakes. He’s a very serious-minded guy, and he’s very determined.”
Report: Coby Bryant to miss 8-10 weeks – Windy City Gridiron
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the knee injury that Chicago Bears [starting] safety Coby Bryant sustained today at practice would keep him sidelined for about eight to ten weeks with no surgery required. Schefter reports that Bryant hyperextended his knee, has a bone bruise, and a small fracture. All things considered, things could have been much worse, so I’m chalking this one up as good news for the Bears’ defense. [BLG Note: The Eagles play the Bears in Week 3. Bryant might miss that game.]
