Thursday’s game between the Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever was billed as a playoff preview. Chelsea Gray was more than ready.

The Aces star point guard delivered not one, but two buzzer-beating 3-pointers in one of the wildest games of the WNBA season, lifting the Aces to an 86-84 win. There were 12 lead changes overall in the game, and the final one came as time expired to silence the Indiana crowd.

Previously, the Fever had the ball with 30 seconds left and a one-point lead, with a chance to pull away from the Aces. Their possession turned into an iso between two of the league’s biggest stars in Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson.

It wound up being the four-time MVP’s moment, as she stayed in front of the guard at the perimeter and ultimately batted a pass meant for the paint into the air. The makeshift jump ball resulted in contact that sent Clark to the floor, but no foul was called.

Wilson got the ball and gave it to Gray, who went back-and-forth with Jackie Young before calling game.

In regulation, the Fever built up a 20-point lead in the second quarter, only for the Aces to make close the first half with a 15-0 run, then open the second half with a 7-0 run. It was a tug of way from there, with Aces taking a three-point lead in the minute, but then Gray made what turned out to be only her second-biggest shot of the game.

Wilson led the Aces with 26 points on 10-of-25 shooting plus 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks, while Gray finished with 11 points on 4-of-10 shooting and seven assists.

It was the usual trio leading the Fever, with Kelsey Mitchell (28 points), Aliyah Boston (21 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks) and Caitlin Clark (20 points, 8 assists) all showing out. The rest of the Aces combined for 15 points.
