The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Vikings still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 9 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft in a class that many are saying could be one of generational wealth.

Sports Illustrated's Justin Melo recently released the latest 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going with a new defensive addition in Georgia cornerback Ellis Robinson IV. The Bulldog defender projects as one of the best to come out of the program in some time, especially at the cornerback position.

Melo explains the Robinson pick, writing, "Georgia cornerback Ellis Robinson IV produced four interceptions in 2025, showcasing good instincts and length in coverage. The Minnesota Vikings would benefit from a cornerback like that. Isaiah Rodgers and James Pierre are currently listed as the starters on the unofficial offseason depth chart, and Rodgers is in a contract year."

Robinson would be a welcome addition to a secondary that needs a more consistent presence. They enjoy the play of Byron Murphy Jr. and Isaiah Rodgers, and they brought in James Pierre, but Robinson would bring this unit to another level.
