Ben Johnson on continued tough coaching of Bears QB Caleb Williams

Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson is not setting a limit to how much he wants to see from quarterback Caleb Williams as the preseason is set to wrap up this weekend.

Although Williams only played in one drive in last week's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Johnson wants to continue working on his young quarterback's development and believes now is just as good as a time as ever, to put the final stamp on the offseason work.
Speaking to reporters this week, Johnson was asked about his continued push of Williams and why the process will continue to stay the same as he looks to get the most out of their relationship.
"There is no end line here," Johnson said. "This is a continual process that we started well over a year ago now and we’re just continuing to build on things that we see that he’s doing well and things that we feel he can get better at. I alluded to it a couple days ago. We’re honing in this week in particular on some of his situational work and coverage recognition. We’ll get through this block and sit down and reassess where we’re at and what we need to focus on going forward.”
It's clear that the relationship and chemistry between Williams and Johnson is going to be everlasting, so long as they're both with the franchise. The Bears hired Johnson in large part to what they believed he could do for Williams, and the head coach is proving he will not let up, and will continue to challenge his quarterback for his absolute best, week in and week out.
