South San and Jefferson will have to wait another week to get their football seasons started.
The season opener between the Bobcats and Mustangs at SAISD Sports Complex was delayed because of inclement weather and was called off with 8:30 remaining in the first quarter. The game will be canceled, San Antonio ISD senior executive director of athletics Fred Anthony told the Express-News.

There is no officiating crew available to call the game Friday night, so it will be ruled a no contest, according to Anthony.
South San was leading 7-0 when play was stopped after scoring a touchdown on the only drive of the game. Isaiah Rodriguez rushed four times for 28 yards on the drive, capping it with a 15-yard touchdown run.
Weather also postponed Thursday's game between Southwest Legacy and Marshall. The two teams will play at 9 a.m. Friday at Gustafson Stadium, according to Southwest ISD athletic director Peter Wagner.
Several other high school football season openers were temporarily delayed by inclement weather Thursday, including New Braunfels Canyon-Madison at Heroes Stadium, Steele-Reagan at Comalander Stadium, Sotomayor-Clark at Farris Stadium and MacArthur-Burbank at Alamo Stadium.
