It just came before a single Saturday game kicked off in Week 1.
Just past around 9:30 a.m. ET, ESPN's "College GameDay" went into a brief weather delay by sending the college football pregame show back to ESPN's Bristol, Connecticut studios due to inclement weather that was approaching Baton Rouge, allowing Rece Davis, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban and rest of the desk to get inside to complete the show.
"The only thing that's gone against us right now, unfortunately, is we've got some weather in the area. And LSU and the people who take care of our safety, because there's lightning close by, as you just heard, we're going to move inside," Davis said. "College GameDay will continue. We hope to come back. Zubin Mehenti will have a college football update from the studio while we reposition inside.
"We encourage all of our friends here to make sure that you stay safe and away from the lightning as well."
Coming out of the commercial, Mehenti mentioned that the network will send its coverage back to Baton Rouge once the weather gets better.
Mehenti would briefly hold down the fort with a few highlights from Friday's games, as Davis and Co. returned around 9:45 a.m. ET.
"We're hopeful to move back outside in a short amount of time," Davis said as 'College GameDay' returned to the airwaves from LSU's student auditorium with no crowd.
