Scottie Scheffler won the Tour Championship last week after overcoming a three-stroke deficit after 54 holes to win by three from Viktor Hovland.
Scheffler ended his 2026 PGA Tour season on a high by winning the Tour Championship at East Lake.

It was his third win of the season, and he will almost certainly be named PGA Tour Player of the Year as a result of his victory in Atlanta.
Scottie Scheffler may not have matched his win tallies from 2024 and 2025 this year, but he was perhaps even more dominant than ever as far as statistics are concerned.

His win at the Tour Championship capped off what has been a truly outstanding season for the world number one.
Scottie Scheffler’s statement just before his Tour Championship win
Scheffler was clearly very confident in his chances of winning at East Lake last Sunday.
While speaking on the Sub Par Podcast, Colt Knost explained just how confident the world number one was on Saturday night ahead of the final round.
“He’s a killer. We talk about all these guys. I mean, you gotta have that dog in you, and you gotta have that killer instinct,“ Knost said.
“Scottie Scheffler’s got that. You see it. He is so competitive. One of the most competitive people I’ve ever met.
“We were out at 7:00 p.m. Local time there on Saturday. Victor Hovland was the final pairing there and he comes off the green, and interviews with Amanda.

“But Amanda just simply asked him, heading into Sunday, ‘What is the winning score gonna be?‘
“And he said, ‘Whatever I shoot‘.
“And I was like, ‘Hell yeah, I mean, hell, yeah‘.“
Scottie Scheffler has the game to back up his confidence
It’s great to have so much self belief, but if you’re going to make statements like that, you need to back it up on the golf course.
And Scheffler certainly did that at the Tour Championship.
He entered the FedEx Cup playoffs with just one win to his name, and he obviously knew that was not acceptable.
Scottie Scheffler then went on to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship before finishing in a tie for 12th at the BMW Championship while suffering from hand, foot and mouth.
He then finished the 2026 season by winning the Tour Championship and reminded everyone that he is still very much the man to beat.
It really shouldn’t surprise anyone if Scheffler goes on to win five or six times next season, while tucking away a couple of major championships in the process.
