New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Matt Nagy will want to forget the abysmal outing their team had at SoFi Bank Stadium this past Monday. The untimely season-ending injury to starting quarterback Jaxson Dart, the lack of morale amongst the core unit, and an offensive output that has them wondering how to move forward with their strategy into Week 3.
Nagy's offense was horrid on third-down conversion attempts and produced a rate of just 21 percent through 14 attempts. Hope was quickly lost in the 28-6 obliteration at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams. Perhaps it was the devastation of watching Dart leave the field in such anguish rather than the team's true inability to compete.

Nevertheless, the Rams thrived substantially while Nagy's offense continued to yield total nothingness outside the power leg of punter Jordan Stout and six yielded points from kicker Dominic Zvada.
Nagy may be forced to navigate away from his propensity to use 21-personnel given the limitations of reserve quarterback James Winston. Giants fans can expect to see fewer designed quarterback running plays, but Nagy shouldn't totally negate the power running game simply because Dart isn't in the lineup.
Nagy's entire playbook is built around precision, and the pressure of the Rams crowd might've rattled his offensive personnel in the primetime lights.
But the talent on the Giants roster still should allow them to prosper in an NFC East division where none of their competitors present true defensive dominance. For Nagy, he's proved that he has the ability to adjust on the fly, but time will tell what sort of adjustments he will make to propel the Giants throughout the 2026 NFL season.
