Washington hosts Seattle with Mariota 28th among quarterbacks in PFN’s Week 3 rankings, and the two quarterbacks this defense has already faced managed 9.8 and 6.5 points. He scored more than 20 points twice in eight starts last season, so the ceiling exists, but this offensive line is without Laremy Tunsil, and Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs are not the big-play tandem that forces Seattle to dial back its aggression. A spike play or two could land, and this still looks ugly for the Commanders.

Should You Start or Sit Marcus Mariota in Week 3?
In eight starts last season, Mariota scored more than 20 points twice, 15-19 three times and fewer than 15 three times. I actually thought he showed well for himself at times, but this Seahawks defense can neutralize the best.

I say no. To both.
This is an offensive line without Laremy Tunsil, and while I like Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs as a tandem, they aren’t exactly the big-play threats that would require this Seattle defense to dial back the aggression.
