Despite facing a backup quarterback, the TCU Horned Frogs fell flat once more Saturday afternoon, losing 21-13 at UCF and starting Big 12 play with a defeat on the road. TCU committed a staggering 11 penalties for 86 yards and quarterback Jaden Craig tossed two interceptions despite finishing with 310 passing yards on 25-of-40.

The Horned Frogs struggled on the ground, averaging just 1.2 yards per carry on 27 attempts. Jeremy Payne, who ran for 46 yards and one touchdown on 15 carries, was the team’s leading ball carrier. A lone bright spot was at wide receiver, as Jordan Dwyer made five catches for 100 yards in his return from injury. South Alabama transfer Jeremy Scott followed with 80 yards on five catches and tight end Kari Ashley made four catches for 43 yards.
