Hennessy has signed on to handle play-by-play duties for UND's home games during the 2026-27 season.
Darrin Looker will handle play-by-play for road games.
Mike LaMoine, a member of UND's 1987 NCAA national championship team, will serve as the analyst at home and on the road.
It's the same broadcast setup as last season.
In July, UND notified Hennessy that it would no longer employ radio announcers full-time and moved the men's hockey play-by-play role under Fighting Hawks Sports Partnerships, which employs UND's other radio play-by-play announcers.
Hennessy, who started as a full-time UND employee in 2009, will be paid per game this season.
Hennessy first started calling UND hockey games in 1977. Hennessy and Northeastern's Rob Rudnick, who also began in 1977, are the longest-tenured broadcasters in college hockey.
