Aleksanteri Kaskimaki's goal at the 13:15 mark, his first NHL goal, capped the comeback, just 18 seconds after Justin Barron got to a loose puck and fired a shot past goaltender John Gibson, Barron's second goal, tying the game at 4.

BOX SCORE: Blues 5, Red Wings 4

Pavel Buchnevich began the Blues' barrage with his third goal, converting a developing two-on-one rush, cutting the Wings' lead to 4-3.

The Wings dropped to 6-5-3 (15 points), while the Blues improved to 7-6-1.

Emmitt Finnie's power-play goal, his sixth goal, at the 3:29 mark to give the Wings what looked like adequate breathing room with a 4-2 lead.

J.T. Compher (first goal), Keegan Kolesar (first goal) and Lucas Raymond (fifth goal) added Wings goals.

The Wings outshot the Blues, 28-15. St. Louis was held without a shot for 26:36 between the first and second periods, both shots credited to Dalibor Dvorsky, who scored the opening Blues goal.

Compher tied the game at 1 at 8:13 of the first period. Blues goalie Joel Hofer mishandled the puck behind his net, Michael Rasmussen got the puck and fed Compher in front for the tying goal.

The Wings took an early second period lead on Kolesar's goal. Carter Mazur saw Kolesar breaking free and placed a fine pass, Kolesar finishing the play with a nice move and tucking the puck between Hofer and the goalpost for Kolesar's first goal (and point) as a Red Wing.

Raymond extended the lead to 3-1 at 13:14 of the second period. Raymond gathered the puck near the dot, worked his way into the high slot, and wristed a shot-short side, Raymond's fifth goal in six games.

The Blues found some life with Jimmy Snuggerud's goal with 28 seconds left in the second period. Robert Thomas drove to the net, was stopped, but Snuggerud came rushing in and tapped in the rebound, Snuggerud's eighth goal, cutting the Wings lead to 3-2.
