Stan Van Gundy points out the one thing about the Houston Rockets that has left him concerned
· Yahoo Sports
Stan Van Gundy has revealed that the Houston Rockets’ shooting is something that he is concerned about, as the team climbs to a 7-1 record to start the season.
Having suffered only one loss this season, the Rockets are proving to be one of the best teams in the NBA with all players contributing significantly.

With eight players on the team averaging 10 points or more, the Rockets have a deep roster with players like Bogdan Bogdanovic and Marcus Smart coming off the bench to bring energy to the Rockets.
They currently have the best record in the NBA alongside the Philadelphia 76ers, and many have already pitted them as title contenders, but Stan Van Gundy still believes the team has a problem, which can prove to be costly in the postseason.
Stan Van Gundy questions Houston Rockets’ three-point shooting
The Rockets have shot the ball extremely well so far this season. But a similar trend was observed last season as well. They started off the season, recording brilliant three-point numbers but as the year progressed, their shooting from beyond the arc dipped.
Playing without Fred VanVleet definitely was a key reason behind this, as they were taking tougher shots. Their three-point shooting percentage dropped to 30.2% in the playoffs last season and Van Gundy has concerns if a repeat of that could happen again.
“The one thing I do question with playoff time, do they have enough shooting? I don’t know if your offence can be built around throw it up to the rim and go get it, which is pretty much what their offence becomes a lot at times, and Sengun is off to the same start he was off to last year, making some threes, shooting the ball. We’ll see how it goes. I don’t know if they have enough shooting; it’s really my only concern besides health,” said Van Gundy on the Run it Back Show.
The Rockets are currently shooting 39.1% from the three-point range. They are ranked third in the league from beyond the arc, with five of their regular players shooting 40% or more from three-point range.
Their offensive rebounding, which was elite last season, is actually subpar in this campaign. A lot cannot be said about the team after 8 games. While they have looked good, the question is whether they can sustain this level of brilliance.
However, with how things have operated in the offence this season, it looks like the Rockets are going to be a hard team to beat. VanVleet has definitely brought stability, which has allowed the others to focus only on their shot-making, which everyone on the roster has done well.
