On Monday evening, the Minnesota Vikings will hit the field at home for a big game against the Buffalo Bills. The Vikings are hoping to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the season on Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
Now, the team has gotten a big update on its quarterback position for the game against the Bills.
“The #Vikings are planning to start Carson Wentz on MNF against the #Bills, as Kyler Murray’s hamstring injury would limit his mobility. Murray also could make it worse by playing. When healthy, Wentz has thrived in Kevin O’Connell’s offense. Now, a shot at 1 of the NFL’s best,” reported NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network on X, formerly Twitter.

Murray has largely struggled during his time under center with the Vikings this year, but evidently, his absence on Monday will be due to injury concerns and not a lack of production.
Meanwhile, as Rapoport noted, Wentz got some time earlier this season as the Vikings’ starting quarterback after Murray went down with a concussion, and he largely played well, leading Minnesota to some impressive blowout victories in the process.
Now, he will have a chance to make some things happen in front of a national audience and against a Bills’ pass defense that has been suspect at times this year, although Buffalo has been an elite team overall.
In any case, kickoff between the Vikings and Bills is slated for Monday evening at 8:15 pm ET in Minnesota. The game will be carried by ESPN.
