‘She’s the best’: Caitlin Clark sends a message to Taylor Swift

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has never been shy about her love for Taylor Swift, and the two have become friends over the past couple of years. Clark has even designed a version of her signature Nike shoe with Swift’s fans in mind.
Clark showed off that shoe during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and she brought along a special pair for the host. When Fallon asked about the inspiration behind them, Clark made it clear just how much she admires the pop star.

Clark’s Friendship With Swift
Clark’s Swift fandom goes back a while. She attended the Eras Tour in Indianapolis in November 2024, and she met Swift a couple of months later, when the two watched the Chiefs’ playoff win over the Houston Texans together.
The two have been spotted together at Arrowhead Stadium several times since then. Most recently, Clark joined Swift in her suite last month to cheer on Travis Kelce as the Chiefs hosted the Los Angeles Chargers.
Clark, who grew up in Iowa as a Chiefs fan, also recently said that Kelce is her favorite Chiefs player of all time.
In August, Clark debuted the “Friendship Bracelet” colorway of her Nike Caitlin 1s, a nod to the bracelets that Swift’s fans traded during the Eras Tour. At the time, Clark said she “wouldn’t mind seeing Taylor Swift in a couple versions” of her shoes that she would probably like.
‘She’s the best’
On The Tonight Show, Clark surprised Fallon with his own pair of the Friendship Bracelet shoes, which included “2nite Show” on them. Clark explained that the shoes come with charms so fans can personalize them.
“Yeah, so they come with charms, and then everybody will be able to, like, kind of make it their own, which I think is fun because you can pick a color, but you don’t really get to, like, customize the shoe when you buy it off the shelf,” Clark said, via NBC.
Fallon then asked if the shoes were inspired by Clark’s “buddy Taylor Swift.”
“Obviously, I’m a big Taylor fan,” Clark said, before Fallon interjected, “Me too. Me too.”
“Yeah, she’s the best,” Clark continued. “You know, and I think a lot of my games, like, people always bring friendship bracelets. They want to trade, so I was like, let’s put it on a shoe, how fun. People can make it their own.”
Clark said that the shoe is expected to be released in late February.
Clearly, Swift has a big fan in Clark. And based on Taylor recently inviting her to watch a Chiefs’ game with her, it sounds like the feeling is mutual.
