Shedeur Sanders is fighting for the Cleveland Browns’ starting quarterback position in training camp.

The Browns selected Sanders with the 144th pick in last year’s NFL Draft after many expected him to be selected in the first round.
After starting the season as the third-string QB behind Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel, Sanders started the final seven games.
However, head coach Todd Monken has not named his starting quarterback for the 2026 season during training camp.

Sanders was recently asked for his thoughts on the QB competition, and his answer has certainly raised eyebrows.
Why Shedeur Sanders sees the Browns QB competition differently
While many believe Deshaun Watson will be named the Cleveland Browns’ starting quarterback, Shedeur Sanders remains full of confidence.
When asked about the QB competition during the Browns’ training camp, Sanders responded: “Yeah, I have. Me vs myself.”
The 24-year-old’s answer suggested he was not concerned about Watson or Dillon Gabriel outperforming him.
Instead, Sanders believes the quarterback position will be his as long as he brings his A-game in practice.
He certainly showed encouraging signs of potential in his seven starts last season, but he also made several mistakes.
Sanders’ seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions show he needs to develop a long way before he’s a guaranteed NFL starter.
