Dreyer & Reinbold chooses Conor Daly as driver for full-time IndyCar return

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing has found the driver who will be its first for the team's full-time return to IndyCar in 2027. Conor Daly will pilot the No. 24 car for DRR in 2027. The team, which has had Chevrolet engines since the middle of the 2012 season, will also partner with Honda for its full-time return.
The signing marks Daly's full-time return to IndyCar after he didn't have a ride in 2026. Daly, who turns 35 in December, drove for Juncos Hollinger Racing in 2025 – finishing 18th in the championship. Daly drove for DRR in the Indianapolis 500 this year and finished 12th. He also finished 10th with the team in the 2024 Indy 500.

After agreeing to buy a charter from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in July, DRR is returning to IndyCar on a full-time basis for the first time since 2012, when Oriol Servia finished 13th in the championship. DRR founder and owner Dennis Reinbold died in June, when talks of the team buying a charter were already ongoing. Since Dennis' death, his son Derek (CEO), Brett DeBord (president/CCO) and Chase Selman (team principal/COO) secured the charter and decided Daly was the right driver for the team's return.
This will be Daly's seventh full season in IndyCar. The Noblesville native has his best finish in the championship in 2020, when he finished 17th driving for Carlin Racing (five races) and Ed Carpenter Racing (nine races). DRR is enlisting a driver who has been with all but two teams, Chip Ganassi Racing and Team Penske, to lead it back to the series full-time.
