Brad Keselowski drops big news about his NASCAR driving career

In a bombshell few saw coming, Brad Keselowski and RFK Racing have announced a split following the 2026 season. Keselowski has served since 2021 as driver and co-owner at Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing, the NASCAR race team started by famed car builder Jack Roush in 1988.
On the surface, it appears the 42-year-old Keselowski wants to continue his racing career while team management had other ideas.
“I’m nowhere near ready to be done as a driver. I still have a lot I want to accomplish in this sport, and I’m looking forward to what comes next” Keselowski said via a social media post.
What comes next, however, is the mystery, since all existing Cup Series seats are filled for next year. As for a portfolio, Keselowski offers 36 career Cup wins and the 2012 championship in a full-time Cup career that began in 2010 after two part-time seasons.
“I’m thankful for everyone who has been part of the journey and for the fans who continue to support me,” he added. “I look forward to sharing future plans when the time is right.”

As for the race team’s official statement, there’s this from RFK Racing president Chip Bowers:
“We are big fans of Brad as a person, driver, and colleague. The impact Brad has made on our organization has been felt by everyone associated with RFK Racing; he’s undoubtedly been a terrific representative of our collective efforts both on and off the track.”
Logistically, things were getting sticky with RFK, a three-car team that loses a leased Cup Series charter after this year. The team’s other drivers are Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece, who both made the postseason Chase this year while Keselowski fell short.
